How to use boric acid eye wash for cats

Boric acid eye wash for cats comes in a plastic bottle and is available without a label.

To use, dilute with water. Hold bottle upright and pour a small amount of liquid into each eye for a few seconds. Immediately put a clean finger to the eye to prevent further discharge. To avoid spraying yourself, place the bottle in a sink to prevent spillage, especially around eyes. The amount recommended is small, so it does not need to be used over a long period of time. For use in multiple eyes, dilute with less than a full bottle of water and gently wash both eyes before the bottle is used again.

Do not use if:

- there is bleeding or discharge.

Do not use if:

- you are unsure if the cat is pregnant or not.

Use only as directed, and if in doubt, contact your veterinarian.

To prevent infection of the eyes, immediately after use wash your hands with soap and water and, if appropriate, change your clothes and wash them in hot water. If no hot water is available, soak your hands in a bowl or bucket of cold water and scrub well to prevent spreading infection. Never feed your cat food or give it another type of liquid. Your veterinarian will help you in case of any questions or problems.
