At the beginning of the commercial, the boy plays squeakily with his toy orca in the bathtub and then falls asleep with him. The next day we go to the beach and of course Mini-Orca comes along too. First the little one plays with his favorite toy in the sand before there is a heartbreaking punch line: The boy releases the orca into the open sea, smiles, waves and sees the orca (now grown up) happily swimming towards the horizon!
The toy manufacturer "Munchkin" responsible for the commercial wrote in the end that they have removed the toy orca from the range, in order to send a signal that the big, lovely whales should not be kept in captivity. "Because a bathtub isn't big enough for an orca." Worldwide, over 50 of the gentle giants live in captivity and are anything but species-appropriate, for example for orca shows.
In the wild, the orcas travel many kilometers a day, which of course is not possible in the pools of amusement parks and zoos. It is good that there are companies that are committed to protecting the impressive giants and thus set an example against cruelty to animals.
